CDG and are scheduled to leave at 10:25pm ~ we don't feel like running around
but want to go into town for a nice lunch "with a view". We don't know paris, would like to walk around the eiffel tower and are open to any suggestions you might have. Is that enough information?
I know there are a lot of threads out there about CDG layovers - I'm adding yet another one. I had a 7-hour hour layover in Rome last year and hired a cab through the airport which took me on an abbreviated tour of Rome. If I get into CDG at 6 am on a Friday - can I do the same with an 8 hour layover?
Specifically, as a woman alone, can I:
1) hire a cab through the airport and therefore be assured about the safety of the cab company?
2) get a quick driving tour of Paris, including breakfast? Where should I have have a true Parisienne breakfast?
3) have enough time to make my connection - I'd likely clear Passport control around 6:30-7:00am - would going into the city at that time be possible or is there too much traffic?
Thanks.
There are many tourists that want to visit Paris during their layover. Indeed, how is it possible to stay in the departure lounge of Charles de Gaulle when you know that you are in the most vsited city in the World.
Usually layover tours are very expensive. Due to the pick-up and drop-off to the Airport, parking fees, organization due to limited time.
Normally do not risk to visit Paris during your layover if you are landing for 2-3 hours. It is too short, Charles De Gaulle Airport is one of the worst concerning customs. You need at least one hour to get out.
Take advantage of my layover tour 24/7 available ! For example my last layover tour in Paris was yesterday, at 6 AM. A week ago I picked-up at the Airport a family at 11PM.
I regularly organize layover tours, so feel free to ask me any enquiries on my mail adress david.kafari@france-travel-tour.com
Yesterday for a 5 hours layover we visited the National Opera, the Louvre pyramid, Concorde Square, we made a walk in the Champs-Elysees, visited the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides, Alexandre III bridge, we saw the Grand and Petit Palais, and made a boat tour of one hour in Paris, here is a video : here
Booking a private layover tour will avoid all the risks that you could take trying to make a layover tour by your own : getting lost, transportation strike or problem...
The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.
