Hi,
There are many jewels to see in France. It is an old country so our history runs over many centuries. French kings let us some wonderful castles, and I invite you to visit them through a guided tour.
We will leave Paris for the city of Amboise, a lovely typical french city, land of welcome to Leonardo da Vinci invites you to discover all its cultural, natural, artisanal and gastronomical treasures.
You can choose to visit the Amboise Castle, symbol of the City. King Francois Ier lived there and loved this castle. It is also the last home of the Genius, Leonardo Da Vinci.
After visiting and walking around Amboise City, I will drive you to Chenonceaux castle. It is the most visited Loire Castle.
Château des Dames as recorded in the French history books, Chenonceau owes a large part of its charm to women: it was built in 1513 by Katherine Briçonnet, then made even more attractive by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Médicis, and saved from the rigours of the French Revolution by Mrs Dupin.
The "five Queens room" : This bedroom is thus named in memory of Catherine de Medicis two daughters and three daughters-in-law.
If you are interested in French Renaissance period and discovering typical french villages, this tour is made for you !
Bonjour David.
I really enjoyed perusing your blog articles. When you write about France "It is an old country so our history runs over many centuries." it makes me think of Jerusalem, where I live. I live in the German Colony, one of the first neighborhoods outside of the Old City founded by a German Christian group around 1870. The walls of the Old City are from the 16th century, built by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman but go back in places as far as Ezra and Nehemia after the return from the Babylonian exile. Ancient Jerusalem on the spur south of the city was a Jebusite city more than 3000 years ago conquered by King David and made the capital of a united Israel kingdom in 1004 BCE. Israel is an old country. 8-)
Your photos are great and really enhance your blog.
Good luck with your guiding.
